Torrance Culture Arts Center 3330 Civic Center Drive North, Torrance CA 90503, Garden room (at the end of the entry courtyard, off the circular driveway).
The meeting begins at 6pm with Officer introductions and catered buffet meal (cost $5). The members then do self-introductions, and the officers’ reports etc. are on the agenda.
The speaker usually begins around 7:20pm with presentation and Q and A, and the meeting ends promptly at 8pm.
AMAZING RETURNING SPEAKER YAKOB BASNER HOLOCAUST SURVIVOR. DURING WWII HE SPENT 2 YEARS IN RIGA LATVIA GHETTO AND THEN 2 MORE YEARS IN 4 CONCENTRATION CAMPS. HE WAS LIBERATED AT THE END OF WWII AND BUILT A NEW LIFE IN LONG BEACH. HE SPEAKS 6 LANGUAGES BUT TEACHING YIDDISH IS WHAT HE IS MOST KNOWN FOR.
